Participation

Participation is by nomination, self-nomination or invitation and application only.  Candidates must be nominated by a senior level healthcare leader who can attest to the candidate’s experience and preparation or through invitation by The Monarch Center.  Self-nominators must secure a nomination from a senior level health care leader who can attest to the candidates experience and preparation.  Learn more here

 

Application Deadline

Applications for the first cohort are being accepted July 15th through September 30th 2016.  Notification of acceptance will be no later than two weeks after application submission.   Early application is encouraged as participants are accepted on a rolling basis.

 

Criteria

Candidates are expected to have a minimum of five years demonstrated health information management leadership experience and a commitment to advancing to executive leadership that furthers health information management. For 2017 candidates, RHIA credential (or foreign equivalent) is preferred with a minimum of a baccalaureate degree.

 

Program Cohorts

The program is divided into cohorts of 25 participants. Program cohort size is intentionally small to ensure maximum participant collaboration, participation, and experiential development.

 

Program dates – 1st Cohort  Participants

Phase 1:  December 1, 2016 - March 9, 2017. Teleconferencing, leadership and social assessments and self-directed study focused on identifying personal strengths and style and developing personal leadership awareness.

Phase 2:  March 14, 15, 16, 17 2017 onsite session focused on mindful leadership and developing a personal leadership vision and action plan.

Phase 3:  March 23, 2017 - June 22, 2017. Teleconferencing and peer and group coaching focused on honing leadership behaviors and forwarding personal leadership agenda.

 

3-day Onsite Session

The 3-day onsite session begins the evening of March 14, with all day sessions on March 15, 16, and 17, 2017.   The onsite is held at the Loyola University Chicago Retreat and Ecology Center in Woodstock, IL., a 100 acre ecology-friendly campus listed on Crain's Chicago Business as a top destination for corporate retreats in the Chicagoland area. The Center is located 45 miles northwest of the Chicago O’Hare airport.

 

Tuition

$2,800 per participant.  Includes offsite teleconferences, program materials, assessments and 3-day onsite program including lodging and food service (transportation not included).  Tuition payment is due in full by October 30, 2016 and can be paid by check, credit card or purchase order.

 

Cancellation Policy

Because we incur substantial costs related to your registration before the program begins, the following cancellation policy applies.  For cancellations received in writing by October 30, 2016, the cancellation fee is 50% of the tuition. For cancellations received in writing after October 30, 2016, the cancellation fee is 100% of the tuition.  Substitutions are accepted to the program, providing the candidate meets Program criteria.

 

Certificate

Attendees who attend and complete the onsite session, all program activities  and a minimum of 85% of all virtual teleconference sessions will be awarded a certificate of completion by The Monarch Center for Women's Leadership Development.
