Merida L. Johns, PhD, RHIA
Creator of the 100 Committed Women Program, Merida Johns, PhD, RHIA, has a vision where women take the lead at the highest organizational levels as the driving force of change in creating organizational environments where people and organizations flourish. The 100 Committed Women Program focuses on supporting women health information professionals in aspiring to and taking on executive positions to create a new Information Enterprise era in healthcare.
Dr. Johns began her career in healthcare, working in management positions in acute care hospitals. Later, she moved to academia and was a tenured faculty member at The Ohio State University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was the founding director of the graduate program in Health Informatics at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and was the director of the graduate program in Information Systems Management, School of Business, Loyola University Chicago. She is the founder and director of The Monarch Center for Women's Leadership Development and a published author writing extensively in the healthcare and educational fields.
